Title IX Information
The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) enforces, among other statues, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Title IX protect people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance.
Title IX states: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
Keystone Central School District is committed to maintaining a safe, positive learning environment for all students that is free from discrimination by providing all students course offerings, counseling, assistance, services, employment, athletics and extracurricular activities without any form of discrimination, including Title IX sexual harassment. Discrimination is inconsistent with the rights of students and the educational and programmatic goals of the Keystone Central School District, and is prohibited at or, in the course of, school district-sponsored programs or activities, including transportation to or from school or school-sponsored activities.
